Collingwood’s foot in mouth

I’m just running down to the bookies to place a bet on the measly odds I can still get on Pakistan winning the current ODI series against England.
Yes I’m an England fan, and would love to see them win, but I know for sure that they will not.
The reason I know? Paul Collingwood has [...]

England lose again

England got thumped, nuff said. I can’t get TV coverage of this series from down under so am relatively happy to distance myself from these results.

Pietersen’s catching cost us the series!

Kevin Pietersen managed to hold a catch in every test in Pakistan. We lost the series two zip.
KP dropped every chance in the Ashes and we won.
Ergo, banning KP from touching the ball in the outfield will ensure England remain victorious!
The joys of logic.

A Kryptonite laden Superman

Top ten lessons from the Pakistan tour
1. It’s NEVER easy touring the sub-continent
2. 100 mph on a flat track is still bloody fast
3. Sometimes, you do have to play sensible cricket to win
4. Beating Australia does not in itself guarantee world domination
5. Simon Jones is missed more than he should be
6. Home advantage can [...]

Wibbly Wobbly England

This series so far has followed a similiar pattern to the summer’s Ashes, with games ebbing and flowing with each session.
The difference in [...]

Square the series and slide the rankings

If England manage to pull a rabbit from the Lahore hat and square the current series against Pakistan, they will slide down the ICC test rankings table from their heady position of 119 points to 117. A loss would see them slip a further 2 points to 115.
Australia meanwhile, can add a solitary point [...]

Evenly poised

Great to see Bell and KP get their tons, but Gilo and the rest of the tail are unlikely to post a significant lead (or break even for that matter).
Is 2 days enough to bowl out the Pakistani’s cheaply and bat in the winning runs?

Getting hopes up in Faisalabad

Kevin Pietersen might have been reading my last post, as he’s progressed to 66 not out in a developing partnership with Ian Bell (who I must confess, I had serious doubts about ahead of this tour)
Come on lads, lots of work still to do!
