Charting Aussie Decline.
A week after the end of the ashes I am now convinced we are perched delicately on the boundary of an era. One ashes loss does not a poor team make, and neither does it make world beaters of the victors, however there are early signs that the succession planning of the ACB has been thrown a curve ball by the defeat in England.

Martyn..Sacrificial lamb?
Damien Martyn has been axed from the test sqaud for the Super Series, despite keeping his place in the one day squad.
Is Martyn unlucky?. He got a couple of howlers of decisions in the Ashes series that cut his series average down and was certainly not alone in performing below expectations.

Batting the future of the game into safe hands?
By all accounts every child in England now owns a spanking new Woodworm and will be committing the rest of their natural lives to playing cricket. The future of the game is assured because…. of England’s Ashes Heroes! Hurrah.
What tosh! I bought a tennis racquet when Jimmy Connors first won Wimbledon and it was [...]

Reverse Swing…Old School
Freddie and Jonesy have given us all a cracking demo on how to get the relatively new ball reversing like an Aussie at a press conference.

Aussie Over Reactions Already
From: The Herald Sun
“the (Australian) team will undergo a major shake-up of its coaching structure and training methods.
Wow, what a comment. The Aussies have dominated world cricket for a decade in both forms of the game but now require a reinventing of the wheel after losing the Ashes. Surely not. Some personnel changes, definitely [...]

Freddie…pissed and loving it
I can smell the beer on Freddie’s breath from 12,000 miles away. Smells like success from here. If there were any remaining doubt on his greatness, his Bothamesque boozing has put it to bed. (A place he hasn’t seem himself for a while by all accounts)
Revel in it boys. Moments like this come but [...]
