The West Indies have cancelled the scheduled hosting of Australia in 2007 stating that they would prefer not to have back to back series to contend with.

With India pulling out from New Zealand, and Zimbabwe declaring itself unfit for test cricket, the calendar of forthcoming competitions has been well and truly shaken up over the last few days.

Zimbabwe of course is a different kettle of fish, but I find it ludicrous that the individual member states have such a control over the matches they do or do not play.

Cricket is reminding me more and more of professional boxing, where matches happen because of deals done between shady promoters.
