Twenty20 World Cup and other good news

Looks like the talk of a Twenty20 world cup is going to turn into a reality and I for one am delighted. There will be calls of “Oooh no” and “That’s not cricket” from a plethora of pompous purists but this should be a rollicking good festival of cricket wherever and whenever it happens.

The ICC have endorsed the concept in theory and the host country for the inaugural tournament, whoever they may be, will be rubbing their hands together with glee for this will be a mighty money spinner.

The other good news to hit the stands this morning is that the SuperSub rule is likely to be axed.

It would be expecting too much for the PowerPlay to get the chop as well but we can but hope.

All in all, a good news morning.

Errr…I don’t know whether you would know and hope you are not offended by this question and that is do you know whether there is any plan to hold Women’s Twenty20 World Cup? I love cricket and into Women’s cricket, but I hardly get any news (of Women’s Cricket that is) as I currently live in the USA :D. Thanks a lot.

yup- overall good news. except it doesnt lok they are going to replace the CT with this tournament- which would mean more overcrowding…
