Cairns hangs up black capped boots
Chris Cairns has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. His “comeback” after Bracewell dropped him from the tour of South Africa last year was enforced more by injury to other batsmen than out of an improved contribution to domestic cricket, so his decision comes as little surprise.
Great player, huge contribution to NZ Cricket. Enjoy retirement Cairnsy, get selling that fudge!

We sure are glad that Cairnsy retired from all forms of international cricket. He has been a model professional at Bacup CC this season. He has been responsible for us being in a title winning position as well as being a fantastic bloke off the field too.
I have just watched an international 20/20 organised by Chris which included:
Chris Cairns
James Franklin
Scott Styris
Chris Harris
Nathan Astle
Brendan McCullum
And a few other NZ test & One day stars that slip my mind.
This was against a team of other mixed internationals.
Joe Scuderi
Peter Sleep
Sunil Joshi
Chris Simpson
Sherwin Campbell
And many more.
The game raised over £4K on the gate alone without the bar and food takings.
He may have cost a few quid to sign but my God he’s worth it.
Firgy.
