Talent on tap when needed
It would seem as though the Aussies have the ability to turn out superb performances when the chips are down. Last nights 3rd VB final was a thrilling exhibition of batting by Gilchrist and Katich and a good finale to what has been a pretty average (and far too long) series.
The Australian performances, even in the finals, have been sporadic, however this may well be a symptom of the ridiculous length of the triangular series combined with the rotation policy employed by the eventual winners.
Last night’s match was worth the watch but all in all, I’m glad the tournaments over. It’s been on for ever.
