Ponting’s bat illegal

Ricky Ponting’s graphite covered Kookaburra bat (and scores like it) have been deemed illegal by the stuffy blowhards of the MCC.
So, Ponting’s Alan Border medal, and all of his 2005 runs are to be rescinded and wiped from the record books then????

Photos from Eden Park Nz vs West Indies Twenty20

There’s only one way to watch cricket and that’s from the edge of the boundary courtesy of some top notch corporate entertainment. We even had a barbeque going.

The night was really about one thing. Kiwi’s having a chance to say goodbye to their hero.

Edwards and Taylor have a natter.

It was not though my favourite Ashes wicket. For a whole heap of reasons, [...]

Talent on tap when needed

It would seem as though the Aussies have the ability to turn out superb performances when the chips are down. Last nights 3rd VB final was a thrilling exhibition of batting by Gilchrist and Katich and a good finale to what has been a pretty average (and far too long) series.
The Australian performances, even [...]

England camp bullish on Indian prospects

There are waves of positive energy flowing through the media from the English camp in advance of the Indian series.
We should not be surprised I guess, and expect anything else.
I do however feel (and this could very well come back to haunt me) that England are going to fair better in India than they [...]

Clash of the midgets

Muralitharan spanked Brad Hogg for successive sixes in one over of the 2nd VB final, both of them reasonable cricket shots, albeit straight down Daisy’s arse at Cow Corner.
The funniest thing to happen in the game was the way the mighty five foot nothing Hogg then strode down the wicket to mutter something or [...]
