Tugger to Amby - “What the f**k are you looking at”
I very nearly bought Steve Waugh’s new book today. Stopped short only because
a) the book is so damn heavy I didn’t want to carry it around
b) didn’t have any money
So instead, I stood reading a couple of chapters in the book shop until my wife dragged me out. The book fell open on the chapter dealing with Waugh’s spat with Curtly Ambrose. The title to this post is the comment Waugh states kicked it off between them.
Just in case big Curtly was in any doubt what Waugh meant, he followed it up next ball, with “Why don’t you go and get f**ked”
Waugh says he was shitting himself at the time, and what followed was the most hostile bowling he had ever been on the receiving end of. For those that remember Curtly was deliberitely no balling just to get closer to Waugh. It was riveting stuff and I have to say the book looks the same.
