A duck in blue Lycra shorts
There’s something infinitely dodgy about watching New Zealand in South Africa in this current one day series, not least of which is the fact that every boundary is celebrated by a cartoon duck appearing on the screen. Perhaps I’m missing the obvious connection. A duck for a boundary? The relevance (if any) is lost on me.
My viewing pleasure has been marred by a raft of hideously dire commentary spearheaded by Jeremy Coney who has the vocal melodrama of a stuffed panda. His female colleague Kas, churns out commentary nuggets like “He loves it big and he loves it big often†to which I stare at the screen genuinely perplexed.
The game deserved a better commentary team with the Proteas winning with only 3 balls to spare.
