June next year will see Ireland host an historic first ODI against England.

Being an Irishman and an England cricket supporter my loyalties have never yet been tested in Cricket. In both football and rugby there have been numerous clashes that would always see me pulling a green jersey over my head and have a Guinness in my hand. I’m Irish and that’s that.

But there will be something different this time and I think I would feel somehow, disloyal to my Ashes heroes if I suddenly started rooting for my countymen.

Odd feeling actually.
